Decoding the Japanese Lean Production System according to a Viable Systems Perspective

2012

The increase in the complexity and variability of the business environment, due to constant and rapid changes in markets, calls for more flexible and effective production systems. Of the most valuable production systems, the Japanese lean production system (LPS) is the best known and studied, but is still not the most widely applied with success outside Japan. The reason for the low level of success of lean production outside its native country is the lack of understanding of the strong interactions which hold between enterprises and business systems. In order to fill this gap in our knowledge, we investigate the systemic interactions according to the Viable System View. To develop our anal…

FISCALITY – RELEVANT FACTOR INFLUENCING THE BUSINESS ENVIRONMENT

2013

Main tool for macroeconomic management - fiscal policy consists in establishing the levels of taxation and spending in order to influence macroeconomic performance. Fiscal policy, promoted by the government authorities of any contemporary state, is directed usually to achieving microeconomic and macroeconomic goals deriving from the roles the state must fulfill in the economy, respectively the allocative role, distributive, regulatory and the stabilizer role. An AHP-based approach to PMISs assessment

2015

The project management environment gets complex and subject to uncertainty. The firm's managers need of tools supporting the decision–making process in order to properly manage project information. PMISs provide features facilitating the project management. The variety of software and the ambiguity of features meaning make the choice of the PMIS a difficult task. The literature analysis confirms the importance of user engagement in features and PMIS assessment and the lack of methodologies satisfying such a task. The paper focuses on the classification and assessment of features of PMIS considering the firm's needs. A case study is presented for the evaluation of a PMISs sample.

2018

Pārbaudes pamatojums izriet no pētnieku argumentiem, ka efektīva un efektīva uzņēmējdarbības stratēģija ir būtisks instruments, ko organizācijas izmanto, lai novirzītu uzņēmējdarbību no arvien mainīgās uzņēmējdarbības vides un reģistrētu pastāvīgu uzlabotu veiktspēju.
